COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW

Established in 1998, Alpari is among the oldest forex and CFD brokers operating today. The broker is licensed and regulated by the International Financial Services Commission Belize under registration number IFSC/60/301/TS/18 and registered as an offshore company in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines under registration number 20389 IBC 2012. However, the broker lacks licenses from any of the European regulators.

Important to note is that the broker appears to be simply registered as an International Business Company in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, without actually being regulated by the Financial Services Authority of that country.

In 2015, Alpari (UK) Limited entered insolvency proceedings with the Financial Conduct Authority in the UK, and in April the same year the company’s license to operate in the US was revoked by the US National Futures Association (NFA), according to official statements published on both regulators’ websites.

Still, Alpari accepts clients from all over the world with the exception of the US and Canada, and as they are operating outside of European Union jurisdiction, available leverage is still quite high at up to 1:1,000.

Alpari.com is available in 14 different languages, and the broker is represented with offices in a range of countries mostly throughout Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and Russia. In addition, the company has an office dedicated to research and analysis located in London, and two offices in Nigeria where traders can attend trading courses and receive mentoring from professionals.

In terms of trading platforms, Alpari offers both the standard MT 4 and MT 5, as well as its own binary options trading platform, called Alpari BinaryTrader. The binary options platform has a clean and simple design, making it easy to use even for beginners in binary options trading.

A nice benefit for Alpari’s clients is the free access the broker offers to the very well-regarded automated technical analysis tool known as Autochartist that offers things like trading signals when there is a break-out in a chart and tools to automatically identify trends.

In addition to the charting tool comes a free news wire stream from the veteran financial news provider known as FxWirePro, which might be helpful for shorter-term traders.

Alpari also features a large selection of “structured products,” or trading algorithms that their clients can choose to trade with. The structed investment products are listed according to their expected annual return. Minimum investments in these products vary, but generally range from a few thousand US dollars to tens of thousands of dollars.

For traders looking to test their skills against others, Alpari continuously runs trading contests where winners are awarded cash prizes ranging from USD 1,000 to nearly 30,000. Contests covers a variety of areas, such as binary options trading, best portfolio manager, and their own “Trader Wars Contest” where a winner is announced every three weeks.

The minimum initial deposit is set only 1 USD, which means that virtually anyone can open an account and start trading with this broker. In order to reach the broker’s elite status, however, a minimum deposit of USD 50,000 or the equivalent is needed.

Customer support with Alpari is available through live chat and a UK phone number. The broker does not list support phone numbers for any other countries on its website.
